Description
This easy peach cobbler is golden, gooey, and irresistibly simple — made with pantry staples and your choice of fresh, frozen, or canned peaches.
Ingredients
- 6–8 fresh peaches (peeled and sliced) or 1 large (15 oz) can of sliced peaches, partially drained
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (or self-rising flour)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk (whole milk or plant-based)
- 2 tsp baking powder (if using all-purpose flour)
- ½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional for balancing sweetness)
- 1–2 tbsp cornstarch (optional, to thicken filling)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the butter in a baking dish and let it melt in the oven while it preheats.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and milk until just combined.
- Pour the batter evenly over the melted butter — do not stir.
- Layer sliced peaches on top of the batter. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar if desired.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes or until the top is golden and the fruit is bubbly.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Use fresh peaches for best flavor, but canned or frozen work too. Add cornstarch if your peaches are very juicy for a thicker filling.
