Ingredients
- 2 turkey thighs
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon chili pepper
- 1 chicken seasoning cube
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Turkey bones and skin
- Handful of chopped onion
- 1 carrot (sliced)
- 2 cloves garlic
- Half thumb-sized ginger
- ½ onion
- ½ red bell pepper
- 3 cups water
Instructions
- Prepare the turkey stock by boiling turkey bones and skin with chopped onion, sliced carrot, garlic, ginger, chicken seasoning cube, salt, and water in a pot. Simmer for about 30 minutes.
- In another pot, season the turkey thighs with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, chili pepper, and salt.
- Sear the turkey thighs in a pan until browned.
- Add the turkey stock to the pot with seared turkey thighs.
- Cook until the turkey is cooked through.
- In the last 10 minutes of cooking, add the chopped vegetables and allow to steam in the broth.
- Once everything is cooked, serve the turkey over cooked rice.
Notes
Make sure not to skip the simmering step for the stock; it adds a lot of flavor. Feel free to add your favorite vegetables or adjust the spices.
