Description

A delightful dish combining savory turkey and vegetables over fluffy rice, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 turkey thighs
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili pepper
  • 1 chicken seasoning cube
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Turkey bones and skin
  • Handful of chopped onion
  • 1 carrot (sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Half thumb-sized ginger
  • ½ onion
  • ½ red bell pepper
  • 3 cups water


Instructions

  1. Prepare the turkey stock by boiling turkey bones and skin with chopped onion, sliced carrot, garlic, ginger, chicken seasoning cube, salt, and water in a pot. Simmer for about 30 minutes.
  2. In another pot, season the turkey thighs with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, chili pepper, and salt.
  3. Sear the turkey thighs in a pan until browned.
  4. Add the turkey stock to the pot with seared turkey thighs.
  5. Cook until the turkey is cooked through.
  6. In the last 10 minutes of cooking, add the chopped vegetables and allow to steam in the broth.
  7. Once everything is cooked, serve the turkey over cooked rice.

Notes

Make sure not to skip the simmering step for the stock; it adds a lot of flavor. Feel free to add your favorite vegetables or adjust the spices.
