A simple yet delightful dish combining pasta with fresh tomato and basil, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 200g pasta
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat water in a large pot until it reaches a full boil. Salt the water generously.
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- While the pasta boils, warm olive oil in a wide skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, ensuring it turns golden but not brown.
- Add halved cherry tomatoes and cook until they soften and release juices.
- Once the pasta is done, drain it but keep a ladle of the cooking water.
- Toss in the cooked pasta and mix well. Add reserved pasta water if the mixture seems dry.
- Add fresh basil, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
- Serve warm with an optional drizzle of olive oil or a shaving of Parmesan.
Notes
Use ripe tomatoes for the best flavor. Add basil at the end to preserve its fragrance.
