Description

A simple yet delightful dish combining pasta with fresh tomato and basil, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 200g pasta
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Heat water in a large pot until it reaches a full boil. Salt the water generously.
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. While the pasta boils, warm olive oil in a wide skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, ensuring it turns golden but not brown.
  5. Add halved cherry tomatoes and cook until they soften and release juices.
  6. Once the pasta is done, drain it but keep a ladle of the cooking water.
  7. Toss in the cooked pasta and mix well. Add reserved pasta water if the mixture seems dry.
  8. Add fresh basil, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
  9. Serve warm with an optional drizzle of olive oil or a shaving of Parmesan.

Notes

Use ripe tomatoes for the best flavor. Add basil at the end to preserve its fragrance.
