Description
Versatile zucchini fries that can be baked, air-fried, or pan-fried. Coated in a seasoned breadcrumb or almond flour mix, they’re crisp on the outside and tender inside—perfect with your favorite dipping sauces.
Ingredients
- 2–3 medium zucchini, sliced into sticks
- 2 eggs (or milk for binding)
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs or almond flour
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray or olive oil
Instructions
- Prep the Zucchini: Wash and cut the zucchini into uniform fry-shaped sticks. Pat them dry thoroughly with a paper towel to reduce moisture.
- Prepare the Coating: In one bowl, beat the eggs (or use milk). In another, combine breadcrumbs or almond flour with Parmesan (if using), garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Bread the Fries: Dip each zucchini stick into the egg, then roll in the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
- Choose a Cooking Method:
- Air Fryer: Preheat to 400°F (200°C). Cook zucchini fries for 8–10 minutes, shaking or turning halfway through.
- Oven: Preheat to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper, lightly spray with oil, and bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Pan-Fry or Deep Fry: Heat oil in a skillet or fryer. Fry zucchini sticks for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve: Serve warm with garlic aioli, ranch, spicy mayo, or your preferred dipping sauce.
Notes
Use almond flour for a gluten-free and keto-friendly version. For extra crunch, double-dip the zucchini in egg and coating. Serve immediately for best texture.
