Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
  2. Marinate salmon fillets in the mixture for at least 30 minutes, turning halfway.
  3. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium heat.
  4. Remove salmon from the marinade and set aside the marinade for later.
  5. Cook salmon for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  6. In a saucepan, heat the reserved marinade over medium heat.
  7. Dissolve the cornstarch in water and add it to the saucepan, stirring until thickened.
  8. Serve salmon drizzled with the thick teriyaki sauce.

Notes

Make sure to preheat your cooking surface and avoid using dried ginger for the best flavor.
