Description

Delightful Sweet Potato Balls, combining natural sweetness with a crispy exterior; perfect for snacking and gluten-free.


Ingredients

  • 1 sweet potato
  • White sugar (to taste)
  • Glutinous rice flour
  • Sesame seeds
  • Oil for frying


Instructions

  1. Wash the sweet potato and cut it into thin slices. Steam the slices for 15–20 minutes until tender.
  2. Mash the steamed potato with sugar to taste until smooth.
  3. <li Gradually add glutinous rice flour to the purée and mix until a smooth dough forms. Adjust moisture as needed.

  4. Divide the dough and roll it into small balls about 2–3 cm in diameter.
  5. Moisten the surfaces of the balls with water and roll them in sesame seeds for coating.
  6. Heat oil to 160°C (320°F) and fry the balls until they float and turn golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve warm with a sweet dipping sauce or sprinkle with extra sesame seeds.

Notes

Ensure sweet potatoes are very tender for easy mashing. Adjust sugar to preference. Avoid overcrowding the pan when frying.
