Description
Delightful Sweet Potato Balls, combining natural sweetness with a crispy exterior; perfect for snacking and gluten-free.
Ingredients
- 1 sweet potato
- White sugar (to taste)
- Glutinous rice flour
- Sesame seeds
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Wash the sweet potato and cut it into thin slices. Steam the slices for 15–20 minutes until tender.
- Mash the steamed potato with sugar to taste until smooth.
- Divide the dough and roll it into small balls about 2–3 cm in diameter.
- Moisten the surfaces of the balls with water and roll them in sesame seeds for coating.
- Heat oil to 160°C (320°F) and fry the balls until they float and turn golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm with a sweet dipping sauce or sprinkle with extra sesame seeds.
<li Gradually add glutinous rice flour to the purée and mix until a smooth dough forms. Adjust moisture as needed.
Notes
Ensure sweet potatoes are very tender for easy mashing. Adjust sugar to preference. Avoid overcrowding the pan when frying.
