  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Tender seared steak tossed in a sweet, spicy garlic sauce over buttered noodles. This bold and savory fusion dish is perfect for weeknight dinners or date-night meals at home.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Steak:

  • 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (for marinating)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for searing)

For the Sauce:

  • 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp water (to loosen sauce)

For the Pasta:

  • 8 oz spaghetti, linguine, or fettuccine
  • Salt for pasta water
  • 2 tbsp butter

Optional Garnishes:

  • Toasted sesame seeds
  • Chopped parsley
  • Green onions
  • Extra red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Boil Pasta: Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and toss pasta with 2 tbsp butter. Set aside.
  2. Marinate the Steak: Pat steak cubes dry and toss with 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
  3. Sear the Steak: Heat a large skillet over high heat. Sear steak pieces in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove from pan and set aside.
  4. Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Add soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, sriracha, rice vinegar, sesame oil, crushed red pepper flakes, and water. Stir and simmer for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Combine: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with sauce. Toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water a bit at a time if needed to loosen the sauce. Return steak to the pan and stir until everything is well coated and heated through.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Top with green onions, sesame seeds, parsley, or extra red pepper flakes as desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Swap sriracha for chili garlic sauce if you prefer. This dish pairs well with roasted vegetables or a crisp cucumber salad.
