Description
A comforting Southern-style green bean casserole with a creamy mushroom sauce and crispy fried onions, perfect for family gatherings and holidays.
Ingredients
- 2 cans of green beans (or 1 pound of fresh green beans, trimmed)
- 1 can of cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 cup of French fried onions
- 1/2 teaspoon of soy sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and top with French fried onions.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, until the onions are golden brown.
- Serve warm as a side dish for Thanksgiving or any holiday meal.
Notes
Use fresh green beans for a crunchier texture. Feel free to add cheese for an extra cheesy version.
