Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the mixture. Beat until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for several days. For longer storage, freeze in a zip-top bag.
