Description

A quick and flavorful one-pot shrimp and sausage dish that combines the goodness of smoky sausage, plump shrimp, and veggies in a delightful rice medley.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups long-grain rice
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onion, bell pepper, and celery; sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic and sausage; cook until sausage is browned.
  4. Add shrimp, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper; cook until shrimp turns pink.
  5. Add rice and chicken broth; bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is cooked.
  7. Fluff rice with a fork and serve hot.
