Ingredients
- 1 loaf of bread, cubed (preferably stale)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups chicken broth (or veggie broth)
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion and celery to the skillet, sauté until soft.
- In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Pour in the chicken broth and mix well.
- Transfer to a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Notes
You can make this ahead of time and bake it later. Optional additions include ground meat for a heartier stuffing.
