Description
Delicious beef and cheese empanadas that are perfect for snacks, appetizers, or meals, easy to make, and full of flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 12-15 empanada dough discs
- Oil for frying or egg wash for baking
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper, cooking until onions are translucent.
- Remove from heat and mix in the shredded cheese.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (if baking).
- Take one empanada disc, fill the center with a spoonful of the beef and cheese mixture, and fold over to create a half-moon shape. Seal the edges with a fork.
- For baking, brush the tops with egg wash; for frying, heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry empanadas until golden brown on both sides or bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
Keep the dough chilled until ready to fill and don’t overfill the empanadas for best results.
