Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form into oval patties.
  2. In a skillet, cook the patties over medium heat until browned on both sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter and add sliced mushrooms and onions. Cook until softened.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir well. Slowly add the beef broth, stirring constantly until thickened.
  5. Return the patties to the skillet and simmer in the gravy for about 10 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding minced garlic or herbs like thyme to the beef mixture. Brown the patties well for enhanced flavor.
