Ingredients
- 1 cup steel cut oats
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1/2 cup milk of choice
Instructions
- Boil water in a pot.
- Add steel cut oats and salt.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes.
- Stir in pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice.
- Add maple syrup and milk, mix well.
- Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Serve warm.
Notes
For creamier oats, simmer closer to 30 minutes and add more milk at the end. Portion and freeze for quick reheating on busy mornings.
