Description

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter or oil for cooking
  • Maple syrup or your favorite toppings


Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
  2. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a little butter or oil.
  3. Dip each slice of bread into the pumpkin mixture, coating both sides thoroughly.
  4. Place the coated bread slices on the hot skillet and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  5. Serve warm with maple syrup or your favorite toppings.

Notes

Use day-old bread for better soaking. Experiment with different breads like challah or brioche for richer flavor. Don’t skip the vanilla extract for enhanced flavor.
