Ingredients
- 4 slices of bread
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
- Butter or oil for cooking
- Maple syrup or your favorite toppings
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a little butter or oil.
- Dip each slice of bread into the pumpkin mixture, coating both sides thoroughly.
- Place the coated bread slices on the hot skillet and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Serve warm with maple syrup or your favorite toppings.
Notes
Use day-old bread for better soaking. Experiment with different breads like challah or brioche for richer flavor. Don’t skip the vanilla extract for enhanced flavor.
