Description

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar, Gruyère)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, milk, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased casserole dish.
  4. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the cheese.
  5. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For an extra flavor kick, try adding cooked bacon or ham between the layers. You can also experiment with different cheeses for unique tastes.
