Description

A traditional holiday dessert that combines a unique blend of spices and dried fruits, perfect for festive gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mixed dried fruits
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the dried fruits, flour, breadcrumbs, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until combined.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until evenly textured.
  5. Gradually stir in milk until the batter is smooth and creamy.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased pudding mold, distributing evenly.
  7. Bake for 1 hour until a toothpick comes out clean, then let cool before serving.

Notes

Ensure the butter and eggs are at room temperature for better incorporation. Soaking dried fruits overnight enhances flavor.
