A delicious and easy breakfast casserole made with layers of croissant, eggs, cheese, and optional ham or bacon. Perfect for busy mornings!
Ingredients
- 6 croissants, torn into pieces
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1/2 cup cooked ham or bacon (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs (such as chives or parsley)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Place the croissant pieces in the dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the egg mixture over the croissants, allowing them to soak.
- Sprinkle cheese, ham or bacon if using, and herbs on top.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For better soaking, use day-old croissants. This dish pairs well with fresh fruit or a light salad.
