Ingredients

  • 6 croissants, torn into pieces
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)

  2. Place the croissant pieces in the dish.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the croissants, allowing them to soak.
  5. Sprinkle cheese, ham or bacon if using, and herbs on top.
  6. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden brown.

Notes

For better soaking, use day-old croissants. This dish pairs well with fresh fruit or a light salad.
