Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey/chicken)
  • 10 small taco shells (flour or corn)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican cheese blend)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 diced onion
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • ½ cup tomato sauce or salsa
  • Taco seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Diced red onion
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, jalapeños, guacamole, hot sauce


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly grease your baking dish or line it with foil.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, sauté diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef to the pan, breaking it up, and cook until browned. Sprinkle in taco seasoning and stir in tomato sauce or salsa; simmer for 5 minutes.
