Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (or turkey/chicken)
- 10 small taco shells (flour or corn)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican cheese blend)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 diced onion
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- ½ cup tomato sauce or salsa
- Taco seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Shredded lettuce
- Diced tomatoes
- Diced red onion
- Fresh cilantro
- Optional toppings: sour cream, jalapeños, guacamole, hot sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly grease your baking dish or line it with foil.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, sauté diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant.
- Add ground beef to the pan, breaking it up, and cook until browned. Sprinkle in taco seasoning and stir in tomato sauce or salsa; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Fill taco shells with the meat mixture, top generously with shredded cheese.
- Place the filled taco shells in the baking dish and bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and shells are crispy.
- Top with fresh toppings and serve.
Notes
For an extra crunchy bite, use corn tortillas. Customize toppings to your liking for a personal touch.
