Description

These oven-baked cheesy tacos are crispy, loaded with flavor, and perfect for gatherings or busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 diced onion
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey/chicken)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • ½ cup tomato sauce or salsa
  • 10 small taco shells (flour or corn)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican cheese blend)
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Diced red onion
  • Chopped cilantro
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, jalapeños, guacamole, hot sauce


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with foil.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant (3-4 minutes).
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, then mix in taco seasoning and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Fill taco shells with the meat mixture and top with shredded cheese.
  6. Arrange tacos in the baking dish and bake for 10-15 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  7. Top with fresh toppings and serve.
