These oven-baked cheesy tacos are crispy, loaded with flavor, and perfect for gatherings or busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 diced onion
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey/chicken)
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- ½ cup tomato sauce or salsa
- 10 small taco shells (flour or corn)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican cheese blend)
- Shredded lettuce
- Diced tomatoes
- Diced red onion
- Chopped cilantro
- Optional toppings: sour cream, jalapeños, guacamole, hot sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with foil.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant (3-4 minutes).
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, then mix in taco seasoning and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Fill taco shells with the meat mixture and top with shredded cheese.
- Arrange tacos in the baking dish and bake for 10-15 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
- Top with fresh toppings and serve.
Notes
Store leftover tacos in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
