Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon grated orange zest
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- Sugared orange slices for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, honey, and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the orange juice, orange zest, and ground ginger.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Top with sugared orange slices before serving.
