Description

A quick and easy recipe for crispy Orange Chicken that combines sweet and tangy flavors, perfect for satisfying takeout cravings at home.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, diced
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds for garnish


Instructions

  1. Coat the chicken pieces in cornstarch until well covered.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat until hot.
  3. Fry the chicken until golden and crispy, then remove and set aside on a paper towel.
  4. In the same pan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, sugar, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Stir and bring to a simmer until thickened.
  5. Add the chicken back to the pan and coat it in the sauce.
  6. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, then serve hot.

Notes

Ensure the oil is hot enough to avoid soggy chicken and do not skip the cornstarch for crispy texture.
