Ingredients
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Buns for serving
- Optional: pickles, coleslaw, or additional toppings
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in a slow cooker or Instant Pot.
- Add chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cook on low for 6-7 hours in a slow cooker or high for about 4 hours in an Instant Pot until chicken is fully cooked and tender.
- Shred the chicken using two forks and mix it with the sauce.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and combined.
- Serve the creamy chicken on soft buns and add optional toppings as desired.
Notes
Shred chicken while hot for the best texture. You can prepare it ahead of time and store it in the fridge.
