Description
A rich and creamy shrimp and corn bisque that brings the taste of New Orleans to your kitchen with minimal effort.
Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 cups corn kernels, fresh or frozen
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups seafood stock
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Melt butter in a pot over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
- Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add seafood stock, bringing to a boil.
- Add corn and Cajun seasoning, simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add shrimp and cook until they turn pink.
- Stir in heavy cream and heat through.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot.
Notes
Avoid skipping the sauté step for better flavor. Do not overcook the shrimp.
