Description
A moist and flavorful banana nut bread that’s perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Stir in the melted butter.
- Mix in the baking soda and a pinch of salt.
- Stir in the granulated sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until everything is combined.
- Gradually mix in the flour just until it’s incorporated.
- Fold in the chopped walnuts or pecans.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For enhanced flavor, use very ripe bananas and avoid overmixing the batter. Swap out nuts for chocolate chips for a sweeter twist.
