  • Yield: 1 loaf (about 12 slices)
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A moist and flavorful banana nut bread that’s perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Stir in the melted butter.
  3. Mix in the baking soda and a pinch of salt.
  4. Stir in the granulated sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until everything is combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour just until it’s incorporated.
  6. Fold in the chopped walnuts or pecans.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, use very ripe bananas and avoid overmixing the batter. Swap out nuts for chocolate chips for a sweeter twist.
