  • Yield: 68 servings 1x

Description

This Cheesy Baked Ravioli Casserole is a rich and comforting layered pasta bake made with beef, Italian sausage, marinara, and three types of cheese. It’s perfect for busy weeknights, potlucks, or make-ahead meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (20-ounce) package cheese ravioli (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 (40-ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 pound ground beef (90% lean)
  • ½ pound mild Italian sausage (removed from casings)
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. Prep Ravioli: In a bowl, toss ravioli with 1 cup of marinara sauce. Set aside.
  3. Cook Meat Sauce: In a large skillet, brown ground beef and Italian sausage over medium-high heat for about 12 minutes. Drain fat if needed. Stir in 2 cups marinara sauce and remove from heat.
  4. Prepare Cheese Filling: In a bowl, mix together cream cheese, ricotta, sour cream, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt until mostly smooth.
  5. Assemble Casserole:
    1. Spread 1 cup marinara sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
    2. Add ⅓ of the sauced ravioli.
    3. Spread all of the cheese filling over the ravioli layer.
    4. Add remaining ravioli evenly on top.
    5. Top with the meat sauce.
    6. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top.
  6. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake another 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden. Optionally broil for 2–3 minutes for extra browning.
  7. Serve: Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

This casserole can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight before baking. You can substitute ravioli with tortellini or use spicy Italian sausage for a kick.
