Description

A visually stunning dessert that’s light and airy, perfect for holiday celebrations, filled with whipped cream and dusted with chocolate shavings.


Ingredients

  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate shavings for decoration


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whip the egg whites until foamy.
  4. Add cream of tartar and continue beating until soft peaks form.
  5. Gradually add the sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  6. Fold in the vanilla extract gently.
  7. Spread the meringue onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 1 hour until firm. Let cool.
  8. Whip the heavy cream and cocoa powder until soft peaks form and spread over cooled meringue.
  9. Roll the meringue tightly into a log shape and chill for 30 minutes.
  10. Dust with chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature eggs for better whipping. Ensure all equipment is grease-free.
