Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (for glaze)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the eggs one by one, ensuring they’re fully incorporated before adding the next. Follow this with the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Stir in the lemon juice and zest until the batter is well incorporated.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the brownies cool completely in the dish.
  8. For the glaze, mix the powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled brownies.
  9. Cut into squares and serve.
