Quick and easy shawarma chicken recipe that’s packed with flavor and perfect for impressing family and friends.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken thighs
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons ground paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, turmeric, coriander, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Toss in the chicken thighs and ensure they are well coated with the marinade.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the chicken marinate for at least 1 hour or preferably overnight.
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked through and golden brown.
- Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve with pita bread and toppings of your choice.
Notes
Marinate the chicken longer for better flavor. Don’t overcrowd the grill to avoid steaming.
