Description

Quick and easy shawarma chicken recipe that’s packed with flavor and perfect for impressing family and friends.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken thighs
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, turmeric, coriander, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Toss in the chicken thighs and ensure they are well coated with the marinade.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the chicken marinate for at least 1 hour or preferably overnight.
  4. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Cook the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked through and golden brown.
  6. Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  7. Serve with pita bread and toppings of your choice.

Notes

Marinate the chicken longer for better flavor. Don’t overcrowd the grill to avoid steaming.
