  • Author: ELENE
  • Total Time: 50 mins
  • Yield: 8 servings
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A rich and gooey pecan cobbler with a buttery base, warm cinnamon sugar topping, and a caramel-like sauce formed during baking. Perfect for holiday gatherings or comforting desserts.

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups self-rising flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ⅔ cup whole milk (add more if needed)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 ½ cups hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and allow it to melt in the oven.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine self-rising flour, granulated sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir just until combined — the batter should be pourable.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Once the butter is melted, remove the dish from the oven. Sprinkle the pecan halves evenly over the butter.
  5. Carefully pour the batter over the pecans. Do not stir.
  6. Sprinkle the cinnamon-brown sugar mixture evenly over the batter.
  7. Gently pour the hot water over the top of everything — again, do not stir.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the top is golden and a crust has formed.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. For extra flavor, add a dash of nutmeg or a splash of bourbon to the batter.
