Description

A rich and decadent chocolate tart with a velvety filling and a crisp, cocoa-infused crust.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup softened unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and salt.
  3. Add butter and egg yolk, blending until a dough-like consistency forms.
  4. Press the dough into a tart pan, ensuring an even distribution.
  5. Bake the crust for 15 minutes, then let it cool completely.
  6. In a saucepan, heat heavy cream and sugar over medium heat until simmering.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in dark chocolate and vanilla extract until smooth.
  8. Pour the chocolate mixture into the cooled tart crust.
  9. Refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours to set.
  10. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
