A classic comfort food that’s simple to make, perfect for using up overripe bananas while offering a moist, sweet texture.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, mix the melted butter with the mashed bananas.
- Stir in the baking soda and salt.
- Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- Finally, stir in the flour and nuts (if using) until just incorporated.
- Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool before slicing.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature. Delicious plain or with butter/cream cheese. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
