Description

A delightful blend of vibrant orange zest with savory elements and a touch of spice, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (optional)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the cornstarch and flour. Dip the chicken pieces in the egg then coat with the cornstarch mixture.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the chicken until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In another pan, combine orange juice, sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sriracha. Bring to a boil and then simmer until the sauce thickens.
  4. Toss the fried chicken in the sauce until fully coated.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for best taste. Let coated chicken sit for better adherence, and adjust sriracha for spice level.
