Description

Delicious and healthy honey garlic turkey meatballs that are easy to make for the whole family.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, and grated Parmesan cheese.
  2. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic to the bowl.
  3. Crack the egg into the mixture.
  4. Pour in the soy sauce, and sprinkle in the salt, black pepper, oregano, and thyme.
  5. Using your hands or a spoon, mix everything together until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. With clean hands, take about 1.5 tablespoons of the mixture and roll it into a ball.
  7. Place the formed meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. In a small saucepan, combine the honey, ketchup, and apple cider vinegar. Heat over medium until well combined and bubbling (about 2-3 minutes).
  9. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
  10. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Carefully add the meatballs and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally.
  11. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the meatballs and gently toss to coat.
  12. Cover and let simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
