Description

A quick and savory dish combining honey, garlic, and soy sauce with tender chicken breasts, ideal for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned rice vinegar
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
  • Green onions, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large frying pan over medium to medium-high heat.
  2. Slice the chicken breasts lengthwise into four thinner pieces. Season them with salt and pepper, then coat evenly with flour.
  3. Cook the floured chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until it turns golden brown. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside.
  4. Melt the remaining butter over medium-low heat. Add the sliced garlic and cook for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the soy sauce and rice vinegar, scraping the bits from the bottom of the pan. Stir in the honey, along with pepper and additional salt if needed. Let it simmer for 4-5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Return the chicken to the pan and simmer in the sauce for 1 minute until warmed through.
  7. Serve garnished with sliced green onions.

Notes

Make sure to slice the chicken breasts evenly for even cooking. For extra glaze, double the sauce recipe. Use red pepper flakes for spice.
