Ingredients

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup chopped white onion (about 1 medium onion)
  • 1 lb lean ground beef (93% lean recommended)
  • 3 cups broccoli florets, chopped into small pieces
  • 1 cup honey garlic sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 cups cooked rice, for serving
  • 1 tbsp olive oil, for cooking


Instructions

  1. Heat a large frying pan over medium heat and add olive oil, garlic, and onion. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
  2. Add the ground beef to the pan, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for 3-4 minutes until browned and no longer pink, draining excess fat if needed.
  3. Stir in the chopped broccoli and cook for another 3-4 minutes until slightly tender.
  4. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the mixture, stirring until well coated. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  5. Scoop cooked rice into bowls and top with the beef and broccoli mixture. Serve hot.

Notes

Substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version. Add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for variety.
