Description
A quick and delicious dish featuring ground beef and broccoli tossed in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup chopped white onion (about 1 medium onion)
- 1 lb lean ground beef (93% lean recommended)
- 3 cups broccoli florets, chopped into small pieces
- 1 cup honey garlic sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 4 cups cooked rice, for serving
- 1 tbsp olive oil, for cooking
Instructions
- Heat a large frying pan over medium heat and add olive oil, garlic, and onion. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the pan, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for 3-4 minutes until browned and no longer pink, draining excess fat if needed.
- Stir in the chopped broccoli and cook for another 3-4 minutes until slightly tender.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce over the mixture, stirring until well coated. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.
- Scoop cooked rice into bowls and top with the beef and broccoli mixture. Serve hot.
Notes
Substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version. Add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for variety.
