Ingredients
- 1 loaf of bread, cubed
- 1 cup of celery, chopped
- 1 cup of onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 2 cups of chicken broth (or veggie broth)
- 1 teaspoon of dried sage
- 1 teaspoon of thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
- 1/2 cup of dried cranberries (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped celery and onion and sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread, sautéed vegetables, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the chicken broth over the mixture and stir until well combined.
- If desired, add the dried cranberries and mix.
- Transfer the stuffing to a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown on top.
Notes
Ensure to preheat the oven to avoid undercooked stuffing. Use fresh bread for the best texture.
