Ingredients

  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until smooth.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop spoonfuls of dough onto lined baking sheets, spacing them out.
  8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden around the edges.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3–4 days. For longer storage, freeze cookies for up to 2 months.
