Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 100g granulated sugar
- 100g all-purpose flour
- 50g unsweetened cocoa powder
- 50g hazelnut meal
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 200ml heavy cream
- 100g hazelnut spread
- 50g chopped hazelnuts
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until fluffy.
- Sift in flour, cocoa powder, hazelnut meal, and baking powder and fold gently.
- Pour batter into a lined baking tray and spread evenly.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until set.
- Let it cool slightly, then roll in a clean towel.
- Whip the cream and mix with hazelnut spread.
- Unroll the cake, spread the cream mixture, and sprinkle chopped hazelnuts.
- Roll the cake back up and place seam-side down.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Use room temperature eggs for a lighter sponge and chill the cream for better aeration. Consider serving with ice cream for a delicious pairing.
