Description

A delightful dessert combining chocolate and hazelnuts, perfect for festive gatherings and celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 100g granulated sugar
  • 100g all-purpose flour
  • 50g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 50g hazelnut meal
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 200ml heavy cream
  • 100g hazelnut spread
  • 50g chopped hazelnuts
  • Powdered sugar for dusting


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, hazelnut meal, and baking powder and fold gently.
  4. Pour batter into a lined baking tray and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes or until set.
  6. Let it cool slightly, then roll in a clean towel.
  7. Whip the cream and mix with hazelnut spread.
  8. Unroll the cake, spread the cream mixture, and sprinkle chopped hazelnuts.
  9. Roll the cake back up and place seam-side down.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature eggs for a lighter sponge and chill the cream for better aeration. Consider serving with ice cream for a delicious pairing.
