Description

A hearty and easy-to-make casserole combining crispy hashbrowns, savory sausage, and melted cheese, perfect for breakfast or brunch gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 package (30 oz) frozen hashbrowns, thawed
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup diced bell peppers (optional)
  • 1 cup diced onions (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish lightly.
  3. Spread the thawed hashbrowns evenly on the bottom of the baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle the cooked and crumbled breakfast sausage over the hashbrown layer.
  5. Mix the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses in a bowl, then sprinkle half of it on top of the sausage.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until well combined.
  7. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layers in the baking dish.
  8. Top with the remaining cheese mixture.
  9. If using, add diced bell peppers and onions on top of the cheese layer.
  10. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the casserole is set and bubbly.
  11. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing into servings.
