Description

A warm and creamy green bean casserole topped with crispy fried onions, perfect comfort food for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/3 cups crispy fried onions


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Blanch the green beans in boiling water for 5 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper.
  4. Add the blanched green beans to the soup mixture and stir well.
  5. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  6. Top with 2/3 cup of crispy fried onions.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven and stir the casserole.
  9. Top with the remaining fried onions and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

For a twist, try substituting fresh green beans with frozen ones, or use cream of celery if you prefer.
