Juicy and tender Greek meatballs bursting with aromatic herbs and spices, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef or lamb
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, parsley, onion, garlic, oregano, cumin, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Mix the ingredients well until thoroughly combined and slightly sticky.
- Shape the mixture into small balls about 1 inch in diameter.
- Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat and add meatballs in batches.
- Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 10 minutes.
- Transfer meatballs to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Notes
Serve meatballs with tzatziki sauce, over rice or couscous, in pita bread, on skewers, or on a salad.
