Description

A comforting dish combining the rich flavors of French onion soup with hearty pasta, making it perfect for any gathering or cozy dinner.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • Additional Gruyere cheese for topping


Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the sliced onions and cook gently, stirring occasionally, until caramelized and dark golden brown, about 20 minutes.
  4. Stir in the beef broth and thyme, and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture back to a gentle simmer.
  6. Add the cooked pasta and half of the shredded Gruyere cheese, tossing until well-coat.
  7. Top with the remaining cheese and broil for 2-4 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.

Notes
