Description
A quick and delicious Mongolian ground beef noodle recipe combining savory beef, garlic, and a hint of sweetness.
Ingredients
- 8 oz noodles of choice (spaghetti, udon, or rice noodles)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- Chopped green onions for garnish
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Boil the noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
- In a large pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat and cook ground beef until browned, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and ginger to the pan and sauté for 1 minute.
- Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, hoisin sauce, and red pepper flakes in a bowl, then pour over the beef mixture and stir to coat.
- Make a cornstarch slurry with cornstarch and water, add to the pan, and simmer until sauce thickens.
- Add the cooked noodles to the pan and toss to combine with the sauce.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey, chicken, or tofu. You can add vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli for more nutrition.
