Description

A classic banana bread recipe that is moist and delicious, enhanced with sour cream for extra tenderness.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup of sour cream
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 and 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the sugar, brown sugar, sour cream, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Mix well until combined.
  4. In another bowl, combine the baking soda, salt, and flour. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined, being careful not to over-mix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor. Feel free to add nuts or chocolate chips for extra texture.
