Description

A versatile and delicious breakfast quiche packed with protein and veggies, perfect for meal prep or brunch gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk or heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, mozzarella, or your choice)
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon, sausage, or ham (optional)
  • 1 cup chopped vegetables (bell peppers, spinach, mushrooms, onions, etc.)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter (for sautéing vegetables)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried herbs (thyme, oregano, or basil, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Fit the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish, pressing it gently into the bottom and sides. Trim any excess crust hanging over the edges.
  3. If using vegetables, heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the vegetables until tender, about 5-7 minutes. Allow them to cool slightly.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk or cream, salt, pepper, and dried herbs if using.
  5. Spread the cooked vegetables and/or meat evenly over the bottom of the pie crust. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top. Pour the egg mixture over the cheese and fillings.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes, or until the quiche is set in the center and lightly golden on top.
  7. Allow the quiche to cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Customize your quiche with different meats, cheeses, and vegetables. This recipe can also be made crustless or vegetarian.
