- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional Add-ins: frozen corn, peas, green beans, chopped onion or garlic, cream of chicken or onion soup, taco seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Mix base: Stir in cream of mushroom soup, salt, and pepper. Mix until combined.
- Assemble casserole: Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Layer the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the beef. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake: Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, until the tater tots are crispy and the cheese is fully melted and golden.
- Rest & serve: Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Customize with vegetables or seasoning blends like taco seasoning for extra flavor. For a crispier top, broil for the last 2–3 minutes. Leftovers reheat well in the oven or air fryer.
