Description
A creamy and delicious seafood bisque featuring crab and shrimp, perfect for cozy dinners or special occasions.
Ingredients
- 1 lb crab meat
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cups seafood stock
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened.
- Stir in the tomato paste and paprika; cook for another minute.
- Pour in the seafood stock, bring to a simmer, and then add the crab meat and shrimp.
- Cook until the shrimp are pink and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Reduce heat and stir in the heavy cream, season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Allow to simmer for a few more minutes, then serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
For extra richness, consider adding a splash of white wine while cooking. Use fresh seafood for the best flavor; frozen shrimp is a good alternative.
