Ingredients
- 250 g cottage cheese (Hüttenkäse)
- 2 eggs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 carrot, grated
- 3 tablespoons oats
- 2 tablespoons flour or spelt flour
- Salt
- Pepper
- Herbs of your choice (such as parsley or chives)
Instructions
- Start by preparing your ingredients. Drain the cottage cheese well to remove excess liquid, then finely chop the onion and grate the carrot.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the drained cottage cheese and eggs thoroughly. Stir in the oats, flour, salt, pepper, and your chosen herbs.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into evenly sized discs, about 2-3 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- For an enhanced flavor and golden color, brush the tops of the talers lightly with cooking oil.
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) and bake the talers for 20-25 minutes, flipping them halfway through. Once cooked, let them cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Store leftover talers in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat before serving.
