Description

Delicious and classic chocolate chip cookies, perfect for sharing at a cookie exchange or enjoying at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another larger bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla to the butter mixture, mixing well until fully combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until the dough comes together.
  6. Carefully fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, giving them plenty of space to spread.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and slightly crispy on the edges.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra thickness, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days, refrigerate for up to a week, or freeze for up to 2 months.
